A before-and-after look at the refresh
Fluxiom turns 20 this year. We used the occasion to tidy up a bunch of rough edges: fewer clicks, smoother uploads, quicker stage management, and a simple activity feed so you can see what changed.
Main navigation
The main change is that we moved the “admin” things out of the main navigation.

Before

After
- Assets, Stages, and Inbox stay in the main navigation.
- Users, Tags, Account, Billing are now under your profile menu.
- Search is front and center.
- Grid/List toggle replaced the old dropdown.
- Zoom slider lets you size thumbnails precisely.
- ⋮ menu holds the rest: print, delete, RSS, create stage, and so on.
- On mobile, everything is reachable from the hamburger menu.
The panel
The old bottom panel is gone. In its place: a floating action bar that appears only when you select files.

Before: always visible

After: appears when you select
The inspect panel
Edit, details, and preview used to be separate panels. Now they’re together in the inspect panel.

Before: details on a separate page

After: everything in the inspect panel
Click any asset to open the panel. Preview, metadata, versions, tags - all in one place, without leaving the grid.
Stages, quicker to manage
Creating and editing stages is faster now. Settings open inline - fewer page loads, fewer jumps.

Before

After
Inbox, bulk actions
The inbox got bulk actions. Select multiple files and confirm or delete them all at once.

Before: one file at a time

After: select and confirm in bulk
Tagging multiple assets
Select assets, press T, and tag them all at once. Instead of a sliding panel, you get a quick popover. Search finds tags instantly, even if you have hundreds.

Before

After
NEW: Uploads, no pop-ups, no detours
Uploads now happen inside the app, in the same tab. Start an upload, keep working, and glance at progress in the header.

NEW: Activity, a quick “what happened?”
The bell icon shows recent uploads, downloads, edits, and deletions. Click an item to jump right to that file.

NEW: Dark mode (finally)
Fluxiom can follow your system theme, or you can switch it manually from the user menu.
NEW: Mobile support
Fluxiom now works on phones and tablets too - not just the public share pages, the whole app.
We also refined all the admin screens - users, tags, account settings, billing. The help section will be updated once the refresh rolls out.
What stays the same
- Your data - assets, tags, stages, shares, users - unchanged.
- Your workflows - same logic, same outcomes.
- Keyboard shortcuts - the ones you already use still work.
- Permissions - roles and access levels are unchanged.
- API - no breaking changes.
Under the hood
We also rebuilt part of Fluxiom’s foundation. You won’t see it, but it’s what makes the refresh possible — and it’s what lets us keep improving from here.
Rollout
The refresh will roll out account by account over the next few weeks. There’s nothing you need to do.
